This prestigious award was announced at the Illinois Governors Conference on Tourism in Chicago on March 6, 2009. The award recognizes innovative tourism promotional and marketing initiatives from across the state of Illinois. The first client honored was the Illinois River Road National Scenic Byway for Best Tourism Website for their website www.illinoisriverroad.org. The second client is the Lake County, Illinois Convention & Visitors Bureau awarded for Best Social Media Marketing for their blog located at www.lakecounty.org/Blogs. "We are very excited to have two of our clients win such prestigious awards for their online marketing efforts", said Jim Rudny, President. "Both projects are innovative and were a pleasure for our team to accomplish." The Illinois River Road National Scenic Byway launched their new website in September 2008. The organization is a collaborative marketing effort between seven gateway communities that unite more than 100 nature-based destinations throughout the Illinois River Valley. Some of the website features include; interactive maps, an itinerary builder, site search, content management system, user generated content, targeted list building, and a mobile access site. "We are thrilled to have been recognized by IBOT for our comprehensive website, and expect the site will be utilized by those looking for an authentic getaway that brings them close to nature while exploring unique communities along the Illinois River," said Anaise Berry, Director of the Illinois River Road National Scenic Byway. "Our new website is the perfect platform to showcase the Illinois River Road National Scenic Byway to potential visitors." The Lake County, Illinois CVB serves as the official destination marketing organization for Lake County, Illinois and represents municipalities, hotels, attractions and hospitality related businesses throughout the county. The website blog is a beneficial feature that provides users with real-life Lake County travel experiences from area visitors.
